Comforting Plant-Based Meals for the Holidays

If you’ve ever been curious about adding in some more plant-based meals to your diet, you’re in the right place. The Gentle Table aims to be a cozy, judgment-free space where good food and compassion come together. No labels. No perfection. Just delicious, wholesome meals that happen to be made from plants.

The holidays have always been about comfort, connection, and food that warms the heart. Going plant-based doesn’t mean giving that up. In fact, it can open the door to a whole new world of flavours and creativity.

I grew up on the classics – roast turkey, ham, and all the trimmings – but as I started to understand the many benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, I got curious. One experiment led to another, and before long, my kitchen turned into a place of discovery. I found that it’s actually easy to make satisfying, delicious plant-based meals, and my palate has never been happier.

This holiday season, I’ve gathered a few of my favourite recipes to inspire your own celebration: from hearty Vegan Shepherd’s Pie, layered with lentils, vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes, to soft, spiced Gingerbread Cookies that fill your home with the scent of the season.

Each recipe is approachable, flavourful, and perfect for sharing – whether you’re fully plant-based or just looking to add something new to your table. Because kindness (to your body, the planet, and the animals) begins on your plate.

The Gentle Table is still a relatively new space, but my hope is to grow it into a full collection of recipes and stories that bring comfort and inspiration to your kitchen. I can’t wait to share more with you!
