There are certain flavours that instantly take you back and, for me, that classic creamsicle taste is right at the top of the list. That perfect blend of bright orange and creamy vanilla is one of those combinations that just works, every single time.
This creamy dairy-free creamsicle slushie is my way of bringing that nostalgic flavour into something a little more refreshing… while still being just as fun. Instead of a frozen bar, you get it in a cup. Cold, slushy, and perfectly sippable.
A Summer Classic, Reimagined
Like a lot of my recipes, this one started with a simple idea: how do I recreate a favourite treat in a way that fits our kitchen?
We’re dairy-free, but that doesn’t mean missing out on those classic flavours. It just means finding a new way to get there. And once I started making my own vegan condensed milk, this recipe came together almost immediately.
It turns out, that creamy element you need for a creamsicle-style treat? It’s surprisingly easy to recreate.
Paired with the bright citrus flavour of orange soda and just a splash of vanilla, it transforms into something that’s sweet, creamy, and incredibly refreshing.
Why This Recipe Works
There’s something almost magical about how simple this is.
With just three ingredients, you get that signature creamsicle flavour:
- Orange Crush (or similar orange soda) for that bold, citrusy base
- Vegan condensed milk for richness and sweetness
- Vanilla extract to tie it all together
The result is a slushie that’s smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Not too sweet, not too sharp, just right.
And if you happen to have a slushie machine, it does all the work for you. Just pour everything in, press start, and let it churn its way into that perfect icy texture while you move on to literally anything else.
It’s very much a “set it and forget it” kind of recipe, which I always appreciate.
Dairy-Free, But Still Decadent
One of the best parts about this recipe is that it doesn’t feel like a substitute.
The vegan condensed milk brings that creamy, slightly indulgent texture you’d expect from a traditional creamsicle flavour. It softens the brightness of the orange and gives the drink a smooth finish that makes it feel a little more special than your average slushie.
It’s the kind of treat that works just as well for kids as it does for adults, especially on warm days when you want something cold and refreshing, but still satisfying.
Perfect for Sharing (or Not)
This recipe makes two generous, extra-large slushies, which is perfect for sharing… or keeping both for yourself, depending on the day.
It’s also a fun one to serve when you have friends or family over. It feels a little nostalgic, a little playful, and just different enough from the usual drinks to stand out.
And if you’re making it for kids? It’s almost guaranteed to be a hit.
Simple, Nostalgic, and Worth Trying
This creamy dairy-free creamsicle slushie is one of those recipes that doesn’t require much effort, but still delivers something a little special. It’s quick, it’s fun, and it brings a familiar flavour into a new format that feels perfect for warmer days.
If you’ve got a can of Orange Crush and some vegan condensed milk ready to go, you’re already most of the way there.
Give it a try and, if you do, I’d love to hear what you think.

Equipment
Ingredients
- ⅔ cup vegan condensed milk (sweetened) (click the link for our 2 ingredient recipe if you don't have any handy!)
- 3 365ml/ 12.3 oz cans Orange Crush
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

See the slushie machine I use in the links above.Whisk your vegan condensed milk, Orange Crush and vanilla extract together in a larger bowl. Then carefully pour the mixture into your slushie machine.
- Set your slushie machine to "slush" mode and start. The machine will churn the ingredients together and chill everything into a perfect slushie consistency.
