Sometimes it’s the simplest additions that make the biggest difference.
This Vegan Lime Crema is one of those recipes that can completely transform a meal. A drizzle over tacos, grain bowls, loaded potatoes, roasted vegetables, or burrito bowls instantly adds a creamy texture and bright, tangy flavour that ties everything together.
I originally started making this crema as a dairy-free alternative to traditional lime crema, but it quickly became a staple in our kitchen in its own right. The combination of creamy avocado, rich cashews, fresh cilantro, and zesty lime creates a flavour that’s fresh, vibrant, and surprisingly versatile.
What I love most about this recipe is how quickly it comes together. With just a handful of ingredients and a blender, you can have a smooth, flavourful sauce ready in minutes. While it’s delicious right away, I find it’s even better after spending an hour or two in the fridge, allowing the flavours to meld together.
This lime crema is also a key component in my Spicy Cuban Black Beans recipe (coming next week!), where its cool, tangy flavour perfectly balances the warm spices in the dish. But don’t stop there. We’ve used it on everything from baked potatoes to veggie tacos, and it never disappoints.
If you’re looking for an easy way to add a little extra flavour and creaminess to your meals, this Vegan Lime Crema is a recipe worth keeping on hand. Once you try it, you’ll likely find yourself looking for excuses to drizzle it on just about everything.
