We adopted Gilmour as a kitten back in 2017 , and he immediately attached himself to our senior cat, Charlie (you’ll meet him in a later post). For years, he was Charlie’s little shadow—copying his moves, learning the ropes of “cat life,” and never straying too far from his mentor. Now that he’s grown, Gilmour has stepped out from Charlie’s shadow to become my own.
Gilmour is sweet, playful, and endlessly curious, but he’s also a total homebody. Strangers? He’d rather keep his distance. His favorite people? He’s glued to us. At mealtimes, he perches on his cat tower like a watchful overseer, calmly keeping tabs on the family while we eat. The rest of the day, you’ll find him either tucked against me for cuddles or curled up in his favorite spot for yet another nap.
He’s even learned to coexist with Zorro, our bunny (with a little supervision, of course). The two of them are a surprisingly good match—though Gilmour is more about snuggling than hopping.
Life at home just wouldn’t be the same without Gilmour. He’s the ultimate comfort cat—our sweet, loyal sidekick who makes every corner of the house feel warmer. 💚
